Josh Earl honing method

Yesterday someone was inquiring about the Josh Earl website and where to find it. Go to Clearbrook Forge which I had not done in a long time. While I revisited this website, I took special note of his honing method which is posted on the ClearBrook.com site.

I haven't used my Belgian Blue in quite some time so I gave his honing method a second try. Worked like a charm on a Schulze Weyer 6/8 clad tang that I dropped on the tile floor a long time ago and recently reset the bevel to get rid of a nasty nick on the heel of the blade.

Josh's method uses the Blue and Yellow Belgian and a Nakayama to finish. It's a very straightforward honing method and it works for me.

I have been using my BBW & Cotis (one La Veinette and one La Verte) almost exclusively now for the last couple of months, and have really enjoyed doing so :)

At present I still use the Naniwa 12k to squeeze the last little bit out of the edge; I have now got a vintage Thuringian (a 'Celebrated') and will be having a play with that soon :)
