Hi Blix, that's very helpful, I note you hone the same way as me, i.e. toe moving towards a corner rather than heel moving towards a corner. Looking at your technique, it's clear that you've done this one or two times before, I note how you slow up at the end and use just one hand. I must say, my attempt seems very very slow and girly compared to yours...
The slip stones are a interesting, and probably good idea for warped blades. In general, using a curved surface is effective for honing a warped blade. I have done this before. But be careful of the pressure you use. All of the pressure is concentrated at one point and it can result in microchipping of the edge at high grits.
Actually I'm doing it parallel there, not toe or heel leading, but heel leading for the one hand strokes. :)
Buying a few dull razors on eBay makes for excellent honing practice. Honing a lot seems to be the trick.
And I just used the razor in the video, a most excellent shave.
Yeah, I should do that, I don't really practice at all, mainly because I don't need to hone the three razors I use in rotation. I should start practicing more with the other razor I have.
