A thing of beauty
Tonight i am sitting here on the couch and reveling in the recent joy of watching the plain water on my Coti jump up on the bevel of my razor.
And the feel of a hair popping off the keen edge of the blade. I think i have possibly reached my honing nirvana.
I cannot thank all of you enough for your suggestions and encouragement.
Thanks and Merry Christmas my SRP brethren!

Boy...you really got me thinking about getting a coticule and finally givin' it a wirl

Man, have to get myself some natural stones one of these days!

Give into your temptation!

Yeah, I know...I thought that barbers' hones were the end of all of my shaving 'gear.' When will the madness ever end??? But seriously, when you keep hearing great things about one particular product and no negatives... well, the joke is finally on me.

Well it has been said that the primary reason that Rome conquered the Ardennse (sp?) Region was so they would have an abundant supply of coticule. Not sure if that is true, but given the excellence of the stone......i can see why they would.
So the stones success is deep rooted in history. It was used for more than sharpening blades.
Patience is key, that and a lot of help from the community here. I have reached my next level for sure. Cant wait to see what time and practice holds for me.
You wont regret the investment. Just takes a while to learn your stones characteristics. Mine is very fast on slurry, and slower than Christmas on water, at least that is the results i am getting right now.
Merry Christmas! Hope it helps.
