Hamburg grind help please

I have a square point Bengall that has a Hamburg grind. What is the secret getting an edge on this blade ?.

I've never seen a Hamburg grind, so I may (no, will) show my ignorance by asking - if the bevel is not touching because of lost width, why can't you artificially "widen" the shoulder to get it sharp? I know you can buy angle guides for knives. Couldn't something similar be done if this turns out to be an issue?

Ah - thanks. Looks like art really does imitate life - I'm developing a noticable "Hamburg grind" as I get older. :D

Tonight I shall put black marker pen on the edge and then see where it's touching or not as the case maybe.
