If you stop with a finishing hone, 10k-12k, then the 0.5 will be adequate. The 0.25 simply makes the blade a real zinger. Sometimes it is to sharp for some people.

Randy, there have been some concerns that the edge gets too delicate at 0.25 and needs to be re-stropped in mid-shave. What's your take on that?
For me, that does not happen. However, it may be a very real situation for some guys. You just have to try and see what works for you.Quote:
