You have to have other ways to tell the bevel is done, i.e no micro chips, if there is pitting on the bevel that it was removed.
Then you have to make sure you can take the razor to 8-12k and it shaves really well, then finish it to be as smooth as it gets then you are good to go.
All this is achievable with practice, just be patient and you will get there, I doubt anyone here learned in one day.
