Mistakes
They all say we learn from our mistakes, but rather than just I learn from my mistake I guess it may assist to share.
I used a pyramid the other day that, while it worked, I'm pretty sure now it was a bit of a waste of time. In hindsight, after browsing the site researching pyramids, I realised most of what I did was probably just a big waste of time. I did a pyramid on a 4/8 all the way from 20/20 to 1/20. I'm now thinking a LOT of what I did on each level on the 8 was undone on the 4 for maybe the first 1/2. I'm not entirely sure why I even did this. It was good honing practice though; as it took about two hours...

But did it ultimately end up working?? :P

It worked wonderfully, the nicest edge I've achieved yet...

Normally sentences ending in "..." are BAD sentences. That sounds like particularly good news! :)

I've started ending a lot of my sentences in "...". Especially in my work emails. That way, I leave it up to the reader to make up their minds what's going to happen next. Such as "I think you're in incompetent, micro-managing, self serving arsehole of a 'manager', and I'm going to...' could mean 'I'm going to re-adjust my work ethic to suit that of the company, seek some medical assistance and become a trustworthy, hardworking loyal employee' OR it could mean 'I'm going to tell you what you can do with this job, continue to inform you of further weaknesses in the company, disarrange the papers on your desk and storm out slamming the door'...

Hmmm.. sounds suspiciously to me like your experience at work lately is mirroring mine :(

Sounds just like my manager.
I have never had much luck with pyramids myself. I lack the concentration to keep correct count. And I've never quite gotten the results I wanted. I've done much better just finishing on one stone and moving to the next.

I haven't completed figured the pyramid out yet, I get to a point where I feel the edge stalls. I like finishing on one stone and moving to the next as well.
