DMT 8" Dia-Sharp® Continuous Diamond Extra Extra Fine stone: good/bad
I have
noticed on SRD the DMT extra extra fine diamond stone. Being a fan of not
lapping away stones I was wondering if anyone has any pros/cons to this stone.
In theory it seems like a good idea for razor maintenance/ re beveling seeing
how it is a "8000" grit stone, and in theory would not require the
maintenance of a typical water stone. I do realize that theory does not always
translate into practice, so I was humbly wondering if anyone out there uses
this stone and finds it to be advantageous.

I have one (and all the other DMT grits) and have used it for years on knives. I honed a few razors with it and it left a very harsh edge. I will suggest a Norton combo stone will yield better results, cost similar, offer more versatility, and last a user a lifetime (if you are honing for yourself only).
As a guy that has both I suggest the Norton for razors.
