New natural Belgian arrived yesterday!
There was a chip / corner missing but I didn't find it in the package so I decided this is how it was sent and is normal... I won't be using the corner much anyway.
I was extremely excited until I saw a long crack in the blue / purple stone. Looking from the top it's close to the perfect diagonal. On one side, the crack is as deep as the blue itself, almost to the yellow stone. On the other side there is no visible crack. I can feel the crack with my finger.
So: I know Belgians may have flaws in them and still work OK but this seems too much... Wondering if this is normal or I should talk to the seller. I am not that knowledgeable about Belgians so I don't want to contact him about something that may not be an issue at all (even though I find it hard to believe such a crack is a non-issue)
I need it
1) to sharpen razors, so if it's still usable I won't feel too bad
2) but I still would like to be able to get decent resale value if I decide to let it go without losing much...
