shaving stuff in Germany
I'll be in Germany for the last half of July, Weimar and Berlin to be exact. For shave stores, I already plan on checking out The Different Scent in Berlin. I was wondering if anyone knew of any places (antique stores, markets, etc.), in either city, where shaving paraphernalia, especially razors and hones, could be found?

no one has any ideas on how to score a thuringian hone right in the heart of Thuringia? Is it even possible?

They are ubiquitous and have been found anywhere folks may have shaved!
Have fun! Test any stone by scraping it with a fingernail to see if it is smooth enough for use.
That is the joy of the hunt!

I recommend "Manufactum" stores. It's not only shaving goods.

I agree with Richard.. passing through a town in Indiana I stopped in a totally overpriced antique store. As I was walking out I saw a box with a bunch of crappy hones. Quickly looked through it and found a near perfect Escher. For $5.
Five Bucks!
Anywhere old stuff is may be a treasure.. people have been shaving almost everywhere for a long time.
