I had to get a new small pocket knife.
My wife and I had tickets to see Buddy Guy at the Paramont theater. Near the door was a sign saying what was not allowed and near the top of the list was knives. We had taken the bus into Denver, so there was no car to go back to. We were instructed to empty our pockets and I just showed one of the security guards the knife. She said "You can not take that in" so I handed it to her. Before she took it she was very emphatic that if I gave her the knife, she could not give it back, so I made it clear that I understood and handed it to her and went in to see the show.
It was not an expensive knife, a Buck Revel, but I really liked it and it is no longer in production. The ones on the bay are way overpriced. I replaced it with a Kershaw Hotwire.
One of my new requirements for a small light knife is that I can throw it away without a care in situations like this, and the new knife certainly fits this requirement $10.
