Welcome. I would say go for it. I started DE and str8 around the same time. Although I can get a consistent bbs shave with the de I use str8s 90 percent of the time. I have been able to get bbs with str8s but even when I don't, I think its more fun to use that de razors.

    Welcome to SRP, Mike.

I also started on a DE ( 7+ yrs) before switching to a SR last year. I still like to use the DE for minor touchups and when traveling.

    Enjoy the shaves in Beantown.

You're like me. I solved a lifetime of shaving problems with a DE, but couldn't let well enough alone.

But I'm glad I started straight shaving, even though there was a learning curve. It's a special experience that I'm sure you will enjoy.

Straight razor shaver and loving it!
