How goes it! From washington state

Name is Spencer, currently stationed at ft lewis washington, pretty new to the straight razor, the wife got me one before deployment last year so I didn't get to use it much, got back the beginning of this year and it had been untouched so it rusted and all that fun stuff,. Which leads me here really getting into the restoration deal was doin some research and found this little gem of a site so I decided f* it and joined up. Probably one of the best decisions yet (regarding all things straight raz) hoping this will evolve in to a great way to unwind and be somewhat productive. Lookin forward to talkin with you all! :beer:

Outta curiosity, what razors do you have coming from the 'bay?

Here's the damage I did gonna have to replace the blade I'm sure. If not help me out!

Hard to tell from those pics. The blade has some pitting by the look of it but if the EDGE is ok you should be able to hone it. Better pics and of edge would help greatly.

What Brand is it ?????

Its a no name the only reason I want to fix it up is because it was awedding gift from my wife right before I deployed

Here's better pics of the damage I did to that sr. :(

As far as I can tell, the edge is in good condition. I suggest sanding the surface of the blade smooth with very coarse sandpaper (wet'n'dry 40~80 grit), to remove the irregularities. When all the bumps and pits are out (or acceptable to your taste), move up in grit, something like 120, 180, 240, 400, 800, 1000 and metal polish. With those grits, I got my first restore pretty shiny with just a few spots left.
If you have a buffing wheel, you could read up in the Wiki on how to restore a blade with it safely and without ruining the temper.

Did this razor shave well when you first got it ??

The reason I ask is from what I can see in the pics, this has the looks of a Pakistani razor, which means no amount of work will probably ever get it shaving.. It is very hard to tell for sure from just pics, but it is something I would perhaps check closer on before investing time and money into it...

Again if you can make the Meet in Spokane on the 29th I could tell in about 3 seconds.. you might also fire a PM to K37 aka Kennrick I am not sure if he is still stationed at the same base as you, but he might be :)

No it never shaved very well, I ended up using a shavette for a while after a couple shaves with this, pulled and left pretty bad razor burn
