New member East TN
I'm another newbie who has watched this site from a distance for a while( sort of intimidated by my ignorance of a tool I've used for twenty some years) . Started shaving with my great grandfathers Boker Red Injun 101 when I was in my twenties(way past that now!) but until I found this site and all the useful tips and info I really didn't know what a great shave was! I also didn't realize how popular a subculture it was. I thought I was just a throwback to mountain ways. Lynn's honing wisdom has been a light in the darkness and Straight Razor Designs has some quality goods I never knew existed! Although I've suffered from RAD for years I didn't realize how many others have the same affliction:)! Nice to be part of the community.

Thanks, Especially from your location. My folks were Gregorys that ended up here around the time of the clearances.

Help is available
I'm a little further south than you are (Smoky Mtns. area.) but I'd be willing to meet up with you and see what I could help you out with. (no charge of course). There is another member here that's a little closer to you (wadepatton) I don't know him but I've read a lot of his posts and he is seriously into some honing and restoration also. I'm pretty sure he's from Tri Cities area. There are a lot of helpful folks in this community don't be afraid to ask questions. Oh and just because they might be junior members doesn't mean some haven't been at this a while. They are just new to the site. Welcome to the dark side you'll like it:beer2:
