Hello for Orange County, California!

I figured it is time to make an account and say hello. I have been wet shaving with a DE for a couple years now. I not-so-recently acquired some straight razors as a family heirloom. They've sat in a box for 6 months and I just pulled them back out a few weeks ago.

Im neck deep in a restoration project of an early 1900s FW Engels straight. I have used information from this forum to de-rust and polish the blade up (still a few stubborn pits). I tried to remove the plastic scales to try to clean up the tang, and ended up breaking a scale. Im halfway into making new scales from curly maple and padauk (again using the forums as a guide).

Welcome to SRP. You forgot to register with the Orange County chapter of SRP neighbor :<0) I am in Orange. If you ever want to talk straights let me know. Heck, I am sure I could round up a few other guys in here if you want to make a party of it. Oh, the new guy buys all the beer. and donuts, and maybe a dancing girl or 2 ;)

If the opportunity presents itself - go for it! You'll meet a great bunch of guys and learn more in an afternoon than you can imagine.

If you add Cigars into the mix, Im in! Where is that chapter located in the forum? I havent gotten outside of the Workshop section lol.

Psh, you don't need to spend money on that, I can probably come up with a jig. Although that would send everyone home :)

Welcome, yea you just missed the first So Cal Meet in Brea, CA, here are some photos and the link to General Razors/ Get togeather meetings.

We are planning a honing get togeather for March and will have a Summer Meet in June or July.

Lots of good help is within minutes from you. Check out 10pups work, he recently did a 7day set of Double Ducks… amazing work, he’s just around the corner from you.

I am in Brea just over the hill and will add you to the list of So Cal SRP and keep you posted.
