There is a section here for member services - there are a few gents that'll do a great job, and some that'll do a fantastic job. Ask around if that's what you intend to do.
So... though I can't help you with the history of the blades manufacture - can you speak more to who in your family used it? I mean I get you found it at dad's, but did dad use it? Granddad?
If you decide to put it away until you figure out what to do with it - I would recommend you oil it up a bit.
