Introduction
Hello Everyone. This is all new to me I`ve never been in a Forum before.I have just started shaving with straight razor for about two months now and believe this is the way forward for me.I never would have thought that I would be learning to shave the correct way for me that is at fifty eight years old.I watched some of the Videos on Utube which is a great learning experience.I started out with a couple of Theirs Issard 5/8s but did not get on that great with them.I then bought a Revisor 6/8th and found this to be a work of art.The Revisor gives me the best shave I have ever had.I don`t think that I am to bad at stropping but I have yet to try out honing.I enjoy my morning shave now rather than dreading it. I worked as a Fisherman for many years and later worked on the railways.I don`t do much now as my health is not that great but I still have a pretty good life.My wife and I have four Cats and they can be loads of fun.I also pass the time with Play station or Xbox.Sometimes I read a little to. The help I have received from SRP has been great and more than helpful so thanks to all who have added their wisdom to this Forum and Kindest regards to you all.Dovahkinn

Hello, and welcome to the fold!! Just take your time with every thing and enjoy this journey. I'm 52 and I just started this year myself. My wife & I have 4 dogs, and 3 cats although I'm still working, I'm getting to the age to slow down and enjoy everything a little bit more. Check out the forums library, and ask alot of questions, because there is alot of members that have a wealth of information that they are more than willing to share!!
We have no control of what other people do or say to us, but we have control to how we REACT !! GOD BLESS

Welcome to SRP. As Walterbowens has said, take your time and enjoy the process. A good shave is the culmination of many smaller skill sets. Just takes a little bit of time and paitence. Please ask any questions you may have, there are a LOT of very knkowledgable people here who are more than happy to help.
MattThe older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.

Great intro and welcome. Hope you have nothing but clean shaves and fun with straight razors.
If you get bored you can always try shaving the cats."We'll talk, if you like. I'll tell you right out, I am a man who likes talking to a man who likes to talk."

Thanked: 129Welcome to SRP I'm 59 and although I've been DE shaving for about 4 years now only been SR shaving for just short of a year. +1 on getting the TI honed professionally I have one in my rotation and it shaves really well. Be prepared to just keep buying shaving gear not because you necessarily need it but just because you can. As others have already said if you need any help please just ask.
