    Default Hello from California

Hi my name is Larry. New member and former lurker. Just recently took the plunge into straight shaving and years of trashing my face with a disposable. I was lucky to receive a Ralf Aust razor and SRD strop for fathers day. My first shave wasn't the greatest but hopefully with time things will get better. Looking toward moving forward and learning expanding on this new way of life.

Welcome to SRP, Larry! If you can't find what you are looking for around here, just ask questions. Everyone is overly helpful here. Enjoy the ride!

Thank you. Finding my grandfather's Dubl Duck in a sewing kit sparked my interest. I was hoping to use it, but the tang/pin area is in need of some help and my not be worth the time.

Hi ya Larry, glad you found your way here. I'm sure you'll learn alot from the gents here, plenty of pros to glean info from.... Ask around and post pics of your Double Duck, probably fixable, placing it in one of the trusted restorers, here. Gssixgun (Glen) gets alot of high marks....

Welcome! When you get a chance post some pictures - I'm sure the experts will weigh in. If just a tang/pin issue that shouldn't stop you from using a nice vintage razor. Again, welcome!

Oh wait, scratch what I said - it's probably junk so just send it to me.

Thank you for the info. The tang is severely rusted at an angle around the pin on one side. I'll post some pics of it when possible. Other than that, I feel the blade is in descent shape.

Where should I post the pics to? This thread or to a different section?
