Welcome, Tex! Attachment 175967 So what are you contemplating buying?
Welcome to SRP!
I'm glad that you found us before you purchased.
Check out the Library for beginners info and definitely don't buy a razor from the list of bad razors.
Feel free to ask us anything.
Welcome Seguin......Make sure to ask plenty of questions about what you are purchasing. I keep seeing people reporting on hereabout buying stuff that turns out to be junk or not shave ready. As a beginner I would highly recommend purchasing a "true" shave ready or you at least need to know who to send it to to get it that way! Also beware that 90% of the razors out there say they are shave ready and 20% really are. The guys on here will take great care of you and make sure you end up with a good sharp razor to start your experience.
I have been at it for 8 months and already have 4 razors and countless "accessories" Welcome to the addiction.
Welcome, SRP is a great resource. Check out the the wiki alot of great information
Contemplating the c-Mon Cadillac. I have a relative that's been a barber for 40+ years and it's what he recommended also looking at the less expensive bokers. I know little of their razors but I own many of their blades. Still thinking and haven't ruled out anything yet
I know the old CMons are the bomb. The new one, I dunno. Lots of old names on new razors ain't so great with the new production. There is a list of razors to avoid here somewhere. let's do a search on CMon Caddy's!
Here's one..http://straightrazorpalace.com/aucti...lac-e-bay.html ..lots more there.
Use that search box up top right for anything you want to know here. Good luck! :gl:
Welcome to the Forum, it is a most helpful and welcome place...
Smooth Shaving..
Hello, Flatire, and welcome to Straight Razor Place. Please do your research on the forum — there is a treasure of it — and beyond that, everyone here will help you along. Oh, by the way, the old C-Mon razors were great; the new ones are mediocre. If I may suggest, give yourself a good start with a 5/8 Ralf Aust and a quality strop.
