Greetings from Melbourne, Australia. I've been a DE shaver for a few years, but this Brian Brown blade - which came in the mail a couple of days ago - marks my entry into the world of straight razor shaving. I've lurked on-and-off for a little while, looking forward to the day when I could finally sign up as a legit blade-carrying member.

Hi and welcome. That's a great looking razor and sure you will make a nice start with it. It does take a while so patience aim for comfortable shaves to start with. Welcome to the forum, it looks like you are well set up for brushes, as i understand it you will need a wetter lather for a straight than a de.

Looks to be a hair over 6mm.
