I purchased this W.R. Case & Sons razor. These are the sellers photos and I will post some when it arrives. I paid $62 I'm hoping that was inline with what I should have.
Welcome to srp bear.

You will need to learn to strop most importantly but also you may want to send that razor out to Lynn or gssixgun for honing if it isn't shave ready yet. You will also want to get a brush, shaving mug & shaving soap. Once you have one good shave ready razor, you will want to buy a second one for when you send one out to be honed so that you may still shave. You can learn to strop in the Library here as well as learn many other things. There is a wealth of information on here. Please feel free to ask any questions as there are many knowledgable people here. Great to have you, good luck & have fun!
G'day and welcome
Nice straight and + 1 to get the straight honed properly if not, our you are gonna be disappointed from the get go.
Plenty of lads on here to help you along and possible some close by
Hello, and welcome to the forum!!
Welcome,

Happy Holidays!
Hi and welcome. Any questions feel free to ask.
Sounds like good advice, I'll definitely look into this. As of now I have purchased a Van Der Hagen mug and soap set for cheap. I can't use the brush due to being pork and pork product free. I found a Marvy synthetic brush until I can get a decent badger brush. I'm still in the market for a strop and once my straight gets here I' think I'll get it out to Lynn either through the mail or set up a personal meeting as we are only a few hours away.
Got a second straight on the way. Now to get them out to be cleaned up and sharpened. Attachment 186584
welcome from another new boy
Welcome to SRP. As you can see, there are a lot of people here willing to help new shavers.

If you can, set up a meeting with Lynn. There isn't anything like one on one training, for free on top of that! I wish i lived closer to him but I have to wait until he comes to the Houston area again for a meet. The second razor you got is perfect. It looks like it doesn't have any excessive hone wear or any chips in the blade. You are doing right to get a second one. We can't stress that enough to new members & as for the brush, I prefer badger myself. You are going to be ok, Take advantage of Lynn's offer, you can't go wrong!
