Colorado cleaver
Hello, new to the forum, I reside in the great state of Colorado. I run a Blades Grim Dovo Bismark 6/8 full hollow. The blade has got some flex in it, so it is not forgiving to little bumps. Honed up nicely, it shaves with the best of them. I picked up grim gallows as well, a unique way to dry and display my blade. Not into collecting, as much as a tight shave. I'm one of those guys who grew up getting flat tops and razor fades at the same barber my father, and grandfather got their hair cut from. Hot lather, weird vibrating chairs, and old men with missing fingers cutting hair, the things from kids nightmares.

I hope I attached the pic correctly, the gallows use a nice strong magnet to hold the razor, it dangles securely. And doesn't take any more space on the counter than my brush/bowl stand. Very neat way to display a blade.

there are a few guys who use magnets to hang razors, Geezer has a special cabinet that he has flush mounted them in. i do like the idea, but would worry about the razor getting knocked off.
i realise a small nudge probably wouldnt do anything but a bit of a knock might. i suppose i should do an experiment with a razor analogue and a magnet.

After I bought it, I immediately did the "guy" thing, thought about ways to make my own. I have an old vanity cabinet I plan on modding to suit my new hobby. The rare earth magnets sold in local rocks shops here in the Rockies would be ideal, a little epoxy to bond it...but I digress. Thanks for being nice to me fellas! Already enjoying all the info on this forum!

Have a look on ebay for n52 magnets. I am using 12mm x 2mm circular ones at the moment to make a knife block. 3 of these will hold my largest knife while the block is held upside down and with gentle shaking.

Hi Bill & welcome to SRP. Sorry I was late to the party. There's a wealth of information here so just go through the forum & look through the Library as well. If you have any questions just ask.
