Greetings from CLT
Hey all. Wet Shaving newb here. I got hooked on the AOS sandalwood line of stuff with a safety razor about two years ago. I know it's overpriced, but it's good and it got me into it. I'd like to start weening off of their line and start trying some new things though. I started using a shavette a few months ago, but now I'm excited to make the jump into 'big boy' straight razors. Thanks guys!

There's been a good amount of discussion recently about AoS Sandalwood.... very positive discussion!

Welcome to SRP!
Save yourself some time and money and don't get a straight from AOS. They are good razors, but they are not shave ready so you will have to pay to have it honed.

Hello and welcome to the forum. You have come to the right place to get answers to any questions you may have about shaving. I can relate to your username as I myself would often enjoy cold homebrew when I started out with a DE razor. However, I would advise against this practice with a straight razor, at least until you become very proficient with one. Although, a good buzz might actually help to alleviate some of the major razor burn you will experience as a beginner with a straight razor.
