Thanked: 0Greetings
A little over a month ago I received my first straight razor shave at a barbershop in Savannah...now I'm hooked. Looking to get a straight razor for my birthday this upcoming week. Found this site and I really like what I've read so far for the beginners like myself. Looking forward to learning more.

Thanked: 3795Welcome aboard!
It is great that you started reading here first rather than buying crap and then regretting it.
Keep reading and be sure to ask questions when they come up.

Thanked: 4826Welcome. There is a lot of information here, there is also a lot of friendly and knowledgeable people. I presume you have your basic items on your shopping list. If you are going to buy it a little here and a little there, start with a nice brush and some good soap. They will improve your shave no matter what you are currently shaving with. There is often very good prices on razors here in the classifieds, no matter where your budget is. Strops are available from a variety of sources. Get one with a replaceable leather, it is handy and cheaper in the long run. Putting your location in your profile helps you find others in your area and that can be very helpful.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!
