Hi there.
My Name is Tobias. I'm from Germany and until I decided to join this Forum only a silent Reader.
I'm car wrapper in an international Endurance Car Racing Team.
I started shaving with the knive just a few months before and since then I don't want to go back to this moder razors**t again.
My first "knive" was the Dovo "Shavette" with changeable blades. Short after the first shaves and some blood drops I was ready for a "real" straight razor.
The first I bought was a full set from A.P. Donovan. Cheap but good looking... The Razor came with a leather strap, a brush, an in House razorcream product of A.P. and the knife itself in a nice wooden box.
The first shave with the shave ready knive were not what I wanted to see. But after honing it gets better and bettter every day. So the fever gets me and I searched around for other straights...
The next one was a WICAWA from Solingen from the middle 20th century. Little bit rusty and some scars at the edge but nothing ou can't work with. So I cleaned, grinded and honed the blade by myself to get the best shave until now.
The next two knives are bought already.... One from I think around 1830 and on from the beginning of 1900...
So lets see what it gets.
I'm proud to be one of the Forum and hope to learn more about the straight razors culture.
Greets from Germany.
