If you have not tried it yet, you will find that sharpening razors is quite different from sharpening knives. Both are worthy endeavors!
Welcome to this forum and feel free to ask any questions. Have you used a straight razor yet?
Excellent! What razor are you using and what stones did you order?
Welcome, Milan! All is forgiven! :D
1st step is to acquire a truly shave-ready razor for learning to shave as well as to have a benchmark for your honing.
Some of your current hones might be satisfactory. What do you have?
OH! you need a strop, of course!
Dovo black star is my first razor, and today i've bougth this Puma 4/8.
I've ordered Shapton 12000 and Vermio natural stone from Greece.
I also have Chroma 8000 ceramic stone, but that one is mostly used for same type of knife.
Here is my razorhttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/16/01...4fd37d6277.jpg
It looks like you are off to a great start.
Now I'm off to learn what a Vermio stone is!
Welcome Milan.
Your well on your way!
Glad to have you here.
Hi and welcome aboard.
Welcome aboard Milan. You're definitely off to a good start but be patient & take your time. The 8000 & 12000 are good. You might want to check out Lynn Abrams Youtube video's.
Good luck my friend.
Welcome.
Not gonna lie, I thought you were Canadian based on the thread title.
Welcome to SRP mate.
All your questions will be answered here.
Cheers Paul
Welcome. Best wishes to you!
Hi Milan
You can practice stropping using a butterknife so you don't accidentally cut your strop & dull a good edge.
Good luck!
