Welcome aboard. There's plenty of information here you won't imagine. Great to have you.
Good luck my friend.
Thanks for the welcome... Been reading a great deal and the information is really sinking in...
Where in Jersey are you? I'm not far from New Brunswick.
Making a face map seems crazy when you're first starting, just trying to figure out how to hold this huge blade in order to shave each spot *somehow* let alone in a particular direction. However, that's really the secret to a close shave once you're comfortable with the process overall.
Remember, your shave likely doesn't have to be smooth to the touch, just smooth in appearance.
Edit: You didn't mention that you are stropping between shaves. Are you? It's important to do so to maintain your edge.
Hey, i am based in Jersey City.... Yeah, Stan Wilson actually told me about the facemap... I didnt have the cuts yet but my technique needs a lot of refinement... Perhaps we should catch up some day for meet and greet.... Its always nice to put faces to names
