Hi all,
I am stopping in to introduce myself, and I'm sorry to have a question right off the bat, but something has been nagging at me a bit.
I am very new to the whole scene, but I come from an Asian country where they still use straight razors for shaves and men's haircuts, so I know what a good shave is :D
Anyway, I had thought that if I were to buy a straight razor that I would try to get something very unique as a keepsake forever, and after looking I found one I liked very much, but it seemed very high priced to me. Unfortunately, someone else has bought while I've been deliberating and it feels agonizing to think perhaps I lost out before even getting started.
It is this razor here:

I really loved it because of the unique scales, but looking around on here, it seems like scales are not even regarded nearly as much as the blade itself and are often discarded.
Can anyone tell me if is even a fully original piece and if it is even worth what the seller was asking for?
I am hoping to hear it is just a dime a dozen and the seller is crazy :p But I've not seen anything like it before or since.
Thank you all, and thank you for the wealth of knowledge put out here. I look forwarding to learning more.
