Well, my interest in wet shaving was piqued in the late 90s when my father gave me a Burma Shave mug, brush, and soap set. I never got good results with it and pretty much gave it up after a few months.
I toyed with the idea on and off for years after that and finally bought another cheap mug set about three years ago, quickly followed up by a not quite as cheap but still not particularly nice set about a month later.
Used that for a couple of years because even the worst shave soap that I've tried still beats the canned cream or gel.
I bought my first DE a couple of months ago and was immediately hooked. Then I bought two straight razors and the DE doesn't seem appealing anymore.
I wish that I had access to information like this years ago.

Off topic, but that is a wonderful avatar. Please tell me you only wear one suspender...

Aye? Well thank you! Sadly in real life I'm not even cool enough to wear suspenders... or wrangle sharks. But such is the beauty of make believe on the interweb you see?
Not that I couldn't wrangle a shark, I just lack the proper equipment! Today's ebay search: a knife, a bandana, and a topaz necklace...

Why do that when you just need a mustache and one suspender?
