First off Welcome. You'll find a lot good folks here. Lots of knowledge and folks willing to share. Now about that not getting new razors. A lot of us have said that. Don't know what you have but there's a lot of different shapes and sizes and scales out there and it's neat to try as many as you can. Have lots of fun with this new adventure.

Sorry I meant cartridges. I definitely buy another straight(or 2). Lol. I bought the dovo 5/8 best quality. Chose it for the reasonable price as I am just starting. I almost went real cheap and bought a gold dollar? But decided not to.

    Welcome to SRP!
It sounds like you have been doing your research before your purchase. I'm glad to hear that.

Yes I like to research before diving into something especially when $ is involved. Chose the dovo because it's resonably priced and have read many reviews that you can't go wrong with them. Did my secondshave this morning. I think the straight razor is changing my view on shaving. My face feels really smooth and I have no irritation. I nicked myself a few times but about the same as a cartridge shaver. All in all so happy with my experience. Wish I started earlier in life.

Welcome to the forum and the best of the Interweb thingy...a great group.

It does turn a chore in to a great hobby...
But unless you can hold yourself to the elusive "Two Razor Bob" class it won't save much money...
    It is worth it...IMHO

Yes that is one of my weaknesses. I'm kind of a colector. Lol. Will probably buy another straight for backup but plan on getting 3 good straights to pass on to my 3 sons. My oldest who is 10 seen me unbox my kit and asked if he can have my sr when he is older. Lol. But I don't think my dovo best is heirloom quality with the plastic scales...but my uncle works with wood and I was thinking of asking him to make me some koa scales.
