Greetings from the Australian in America!
Hello everyone! I just jumped into the world of the straight razor and I'm excited about it, I must say. Though I never really had any problems with cartridge shaving I found a strange appeal and attraction to getting a razor I could keep for many, many years. So I went ahead and got myself a starter kit and have been at it for about a week now when I stumbled on this forum. The beginner's guide has been a wonderful read and I've ensured to pace myself by its suggestions, so thank you for that!
Anyway, I've made my living for the past 13 years in the restaurant business as a flair bartender, and recently moved into management. It's been a wild ride and a lot of fun! I even competed professionally many times in flair bartending. It's a riot. I'm also happily married with a beautiful young daughter.
But that's probably more than enough of my story so far just for introductions. I look forward to being part of this community!
