Hi There!
Hi SRP members,
I started about 3 weeks ago and can see my confidence increasing. I have to say the first day holding the sr in my non-dominate hand was nerve racking. Still trying to figure out angles and continue to read and watch the videos posted here. This is an amazing site,so glad i found it!!
I look forward to learning from you all.

Welcome aboard. I have been straight shaving 3 months and still feel awkward about using my non-dominant hand. It all comes with practice.

Welcome to SRP!
There's a lot of great folks and info here, have you checked out the library?
Enjoy and have fun

Hello and welcome to SRP.
Watch all the shaving videos that you can. Our founder Lynn has one that is a must watch. Practice different angles with a butter knife.
Make sure you stay in your comfort zone. Slow and steady wins the race.
Be careful....This is addictive.
Enjoy yourself.

Welcome!
Pete speaks the truth. Lynn's old DVD could be called dated by some...Even Lynn, himself! :)
It is still the truth and nothing but!
Heck, I learned from it....Still do 4/8 pyramids and lather over towels!
Too many razzers as well! :rofl2:
On that dominant hand...Use it! I have never swiped a stroke with my left.
Right-handed me.
Works either way! ;)

Welcome new shaver, I too shave dominate hand only.
So what ever your more comfortable with is what I lean towards, not that I can't... But after 30 + yrs, why.

Welcome.
Tight skin, watch the angle, and shave the lather...some of the best advice I got when I started and some of the best I can pass on.
Oh, and don't forget to breathe!

Welcome to SRP! Keep working with your off hand, and you will be shaving less nervously before you know it. It takes a while to figure out your own beard growth patterns and which strokes work best for different areas of your face. Chin and mustache areas were more difficult for me. I also found it key to have the blade moving before starting any stroke and received fewer nicks once I did this regularly. Have fun!

Welcome to SRP!! It is all about developing "your technique" and what someone else does may either help or hinder your progress... Look for that one kernel of information in every Post, Video, etc and eventually you'll have all the pieces needed to put your own method together. :)

Hello and welcome here. I use a SR for 2 years now and still don't use the weak hand.

Howdy and welcome, sounds like you're off and running, good work.

Medicineman offers sage advice, shave the lather. Very little pressure, also tight skin. No need to look like Kenny Rodgers tight but tight enough it doesn't want to bunch up under the edge and give a bite. Know that tomorrow might be the best shave ever then the next time you wonder what you are doing wrong :D it will come in time. Best of luck.
