Hello from Brazil
First of all, thank you for the knowledge diffusion that you do here.
And now my story.
I started in wetshaving through the safety razors, but after I tried this Palmera I realized that the straight razors were my paradise.
These beautiful Filarmonicas were the realization of a dream. Now I think I'm satisfied, maybe buy a Revisor with spine decoration, a custom Koraat, Dubl Ducks, Dorkos, other Filarmonicas and opportunities here in the forum. Nothing much. LOL.
Since here in Brazil it is not easy to find honemasters, I decided that I would have to learn to do it myself.
I bought a 12k Naniwa stone for finishing and maintaining the sharp razor blades.
And bought a 3/8k chinese synthetic to test the two blades that are now with wooden scales (yes, I know these stones are not ideal, but I wanted to get an idea before taking any bigger steps).
Well, after reading, watching videos and some attempts, I was able to put good and comfortable edges on these two razors, so I increased them with these wooden scales made by a Brazilian artisan.
Then I felt confident to breadknife the Palmera and do the whole process through the 3k, 8k, 12k, 0.5 crox, 0.1 ironox, leather strop. Success, but I know that this chinese stone is not consistent and I do not intend to put the Filarmonicas or other valuable razors on it, if I ever need it.
After all this presentation, I would like to know if a 1/6k King stone could meet my purpose, replacing de chinese, or if I need something more up to 12k naniwa.
Thank you again!!!

Bom dia Franco (with obrigado/a, that's all my knowledge of Portuguese)
You will find here all the necessary information. I prefer to use natural stones: coticule & Belgian Blue wetstone, Welsh stones, Arkansas translucent ...
Send me the plane ticket to Brazil, I will come to show you how to use them:w

Welcome to SRP!
There's a lot of great folks and info here, check out the library.
That is a very nice collection, and a 12k naniwa will do a great job keeping the edge fresh.
Enjoy and have fun

Welcome aboard.
That's an impressive , and growing group of razors.
You might look at the 1000/8000 Norton Stone as well.

Welcome to SRP!
You have the start of a beautiful collection.
The King stone will work well. I prefer chosora or Norton on my razors, but that is just my preference.

Thank you, guys.
I'm reading everything I can here.
I think I'm going to wait a little bit and put my money in naniwas 3k and 8k, even more because there are good japanese sellers with low shipping costs to Brazil.
