It takes quite a few shaves before you get it,, I had a razor I thought wasn't sharp when I started but after a couple months I tried that very same razor and it was fine then. As to stropping you need to do that every shave no matter what at least a few strokes after your shave on the linen to clean the edge and a few on the leather, slowly and deliberately . The old adage is after 100 shaves you will have it down pretty well, some sooner some later, but it won't be in your first couple of shaves. As to your hair type the razor does not care if the edge is good and your technique is good it cuts the hair. Tc

Hi and welcome aboard. A couple licks on the strop is a good idea even if just to be sure its properly clean and dry. Oxidation on the edge will damage just as much as poor stropping

Will do! I did dry really well with TP and then applied oiled to the blade.

Just got done with SOTD. I was able to shave both cheeks with minor pull. A lot better then yesterday! I couldn't hold the angle and just shave the latter! Perhaps it was the workout and pre workout concoction that is caffeine laced! Regardless, I think I did good.

It will take a while for muscle memory to build up for holding the angle right - just like with your DE.
And eventually you will relax and probably not have a death grip on the razor while you shave.
