Welcome to the forum Face. Sounds like you got an SRP nearby so that is cool.
Interesting that no one has used that screen name on a shaving forum before, or been that big a fan of the A-Team

Welcome, Face, from a Cantabrigian. It'd be useful to know what your set-up is like at this point and what your aims are in straight-razor shaving.
Hi and welcome aboard
I am looking to enjoy a fraction of my life that has become a not so great part of my day. I want to look clean cut, and still enjoy a smooth as a baby's.... face for my kids and wife.
My setup at this point is on its way here now. It's the dovo that was in the b/s/t part of this forum. A 3 inch strop that a member had handy.
I also enjoy something that takes me away from world issues that are on my brain at any given time...I have a sever case of PTSD (or so my therapist tells me). If stropping the razor and shaving takes me away for an hour then that's great in my book. I collect knives, and thought this would fulfill both these wants. I hope this helps in what you are asking.
Thanks, I was curious. A shave-ready razor and a strop is a good way to start as far as I'm concerned. Honing adds another dimension to things, which is why I asked as to your aims. If you're familiar with honing and stropping relative to your knife collection, you should get by just fine with razors, bearing in mind that there are some differences as to approach.
Welcome to the forum. :)
