Hello From The UK
Hello all,
I've been browsing the forum for a while now, but finally got myself registered.
I've only been shaving with a straight razor for a year, but I wish I'd started sooner. Have managed to maintain the edge on my Dovo 5/8" hollow razor since I got it, but recently figured I'd have a go at restoring some old ones.
I bought a cheap bunch of old razors on eBay to try and teach myself some of the basics of restoration. Looking forward to learning as much as I can.

Welcome Mark.
When you start to restore you don't necessarily have to make them look brand new. Many of the Razors I do are over 100 years old. I do all work by hand. You will find some pitting is just too deep to get out completely. I recommend starting with the heavy blades like a near wedge. They are more forgiving to over sanding. Do not use a Dremel or you will find you have ruined a blade in the blink of an eye.
Be sure to post before and after photos.
