Those are all in the east. There are a few shops out west.

Hello Tracey and welcome to SRP.
As said, the B/S/T thread is a great place to start looking.
Enjoy your time here on the forum and have fun.

Thanks, Pete! I'll have a look.
Okay, well since patience is not one of my virtues, I opted to get a Davo razor set from Classic Edge and I have just finished my first shave. While it wasn't the best shave I've ever given myself, it isn't the worst either. I'm pretty sure I pushed too hard and I'm going to have to work on shaving my head but it was a serviceable enough job and so I think I'll get the hang of it sooner than later! I'm going to have to get a balm of some sort though!
I just wanted to thank everyone again for the advice and encouragement. I'm looking forward to hanging out here and helping in any little way I can!
Thank you, everyone! It's been a fantastic experience so far!
that blade may have not been at its best either, so take it for whats its worth, one of the biggest names in honing at his store many got out that werent right. sometimes it takes a personal touch from someone who does shave and hone on a regular basis.
also if cant have patience you will most likely give up before it gets better, this takes time to learn, most dont get consistent good shaves for a 100 or so shaves. some quicker, some later. and stropping is key and having the blade right to start with. while your learning, its tough to keep the edge right. stropping, can degrade one pretty quick, and like most they think its easy to do. yes its easy to strop a razor, but right is another story. i thought i was stropping right in the beginning but razors didnt last long before needing touchups. so a year later now i can improve an edge with stropping and go many, many shaves with nothing but leather. this journey requires a commitment
And greetings from out west. You're definitely in the right place to get what you need. When I started out, got lots of great learning from here.
