Hello to all from TN! Some may recognize me from another forum..I thought I would check this one out. I have been straight razor shaving for a little while now and have restored a good few vintage blades. Mostly rescaling with stabilized wood, and getting old blades back to service has been a joy..I have also made some custom brushes. I am a boar convert from badger and synth... I also converted from DE so I have been wet shaving for some good years glad to be here and thanks for having me!

Welcome, Sanch-I'm just curious about how you handle stabilized scales, as I've recently started to do more of those. A few snapped/broken scales convinced me that there's a reason a lot of guys back stabilized burl with G10. As the others said, jump right in and have fun.

I've never had any of the scales that I made and stabilized snap on me and I think lining them with g10 would make them a little bit on the thick side but that's my opinion for whatever $0.02 it's worth LOL! I will find the appropriate place possibly the restoration area and post a picture of my latest which is a Wade and butcher with stabilized spalted Maple scales it was tonight's shave thanks again for the kind words
