The entry level razors tend to have problems with the grinds. And make it difficult for someone new, to honing.

Four outta five I've honed, including my own, have had issues. That's only the modern grinds of today's, the vintage stuff is totally fine.

I recently sent one to Mike to correct. Dovo has just gotten sloppy IMO.

I've got one of those T-I Bisons in faux tortoise advertised as 6/8 but looks more like 11/16 at the toe and 13/16 at the heel end. What a stunning lack of quality control...so the issues are not isolated to DOVO unfortunately. However, DOVO seems to be leading the overall race to the bottom especially with their most inexpensive models.

Well, you get what you pay for.
No excuse for poor manufacturing but that is the way it is.

The ~$300 Flowing from 2012 arrived in perfect order along with an 5/8 Eibenholz (msrp nearly that of a "Best Quality") also bought that year. But, lately, seems the 21st century business model has finally caught up to DOVO and Thiers-Issard. Sign of the times that anything relatively inexpensive can barely be expected to last its paltry 90-day warranty period.
