    Default Hello from Canada

    Hello,

My name's Connor, I already made a thread a while back but forgot to formally introduce myself so here I am. I'm 24, live in central Canada (Winnipeg), and just got into straight razor shaving/honing recently after getting a warped Dovo razor as a gift, and then going on a quest to restore it to full functionality when it appeared that there is no one in my entire city who could do it, though I did eventually find someone. Given the almost complete lack of locals who can do this, I bought my own set of stones and am in the process of learning to properly hone razors by myself.

I'll see you around on the forums!

Hi Conner, welcome to SRP! Plenty of honing videos here. Check out some by gssixgun, he does a honing video for each of the most popular hones ( Norton, Coticules, etc.) that are best for honing razors. If you have a question about anything concerning straight razors or shaving
just ask, someone will be more than happy to answer, that's what we are here for. Enjoy the journey!

Welcome from a fellow Canadian. There are a few of us around on SRP.

There is a Canadian Wet Shavers forum on Facebook. I’m pretty sure there are members of that group in Winnipeg. Take a look.

Welcome to SRP. Hope the Zoom with Glen helped answer a lot of questions. But I bet it brought up a bunch more questions too. Just go slow. It take much time to learn to hone properly but when it all clicks its a great thing.
