Welcome again Ryan. Yes that is a nice small collection. I say "small" not in a bad way but more in a "carefully hand picked" sense. I have somewhere around 200... maybe 220 but that is sort of what I mean. Many of them were tagalongs in lots I bought specifically for one or two. See, that statement is self demonstrating. I don't even know exactly how many I own.
Mine isn't even a large collection though. Some of these fine gentlemen have many times more. Some could even put a zero on the end of my number.
I'm glad you have the honor of receiving heirlooms. I have many and I cherish them all. In particular I have a fairly sizeable collection of Arks from him. He was sort of like what you described about your grandfather. Interestingly he was a locksmith as am I and my son.
Aside from the C-Mon, one of the razors and two of the stones were purchased from Glen @Gssixgun many years ago. The Theirs-Issard Spartacus was an eBay purchase around the same time. I wanted to know if their razors were as good as their knives. The answer to that is no, at least for my beard, with that razor. I understand the Spartacus is a special extra thin grind or something. It doesn't do well with my heavy thick beard. The la Veinette was a yard sale pick up for a dollar.
Razor prices are funny things. I'd trade the Spartacus for a half hollow Wosty IXL or a W&B, but I don't know enough to know if that would be a fair trade. I need to spend more time on the forums.
Welcome Ryan.
Sounds like you have a lot of experience to share with us. We’d love to share ours with you.
One rule here that you seem already to know about: if there’s no picture, it didn’t happen. So share lots of photos.
Welcome Ryan. Glad to have ya here on SRP. We are a bit of a small mall sized community like TSD but we have the most experience and info when it come to straights. Stick around and post pics. We like all types of razors here. The sub forums with DE and safety razors in general dont get posted in much be most of us started that way ans still have many of them.
Enjoy and ask questions if you have any.
G'day and welcome to the forum Ryan.

Welcome, Ryan.
I like that strop and the straight razors are very nice. I know I have a 6/8 Spartacus and a C-mon for sure and I would not trade them for anything. :)
If you have any questions then feel free to ask. We are more than happy to help. :)
Welcome! We need smart guys! :rofl2:
You seem as if one. Nice kit there!
Welcome to the forum. It looks like a sensible collection for shaving.
Welcome aboard, Ryan.
