Hello, I am Aaron and am glad to be part of this forum. My interest in sharp razors is really not razors, its sharp chisels and knives. I make violin bows and in carving hard tropical woods sharp edges make the difference between being able to make and just having an awful time. I started trying to make without knowing how difficult it was to learn how to sharpen. So my first couple of years was rather miserable. Eventually I learned a bit. My first sharpening experience was wet/dry sandpaper, then I discovered coticules and diamond stones, and now I've broadened my horizons with barber hones of various types as well as synthetic stones and a singular JNat which I haven't really used at all. I have some slates also. I did luck into a couple of frictionite hones which I just lapped for the 1st time, as they were both pretty dished.
