Hi! Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Tony Gotelli. Long story short I had been thinking about beginning the process of mastering straight razor shaving when my Mom gave me 4 circa 1920's (or so) razors that as it turns out belonged to my great, great grandfather. He was a very well-known barber in Iowa. I have no idea what they are worth (and I am not interested in selling them due to sentimental value). By the same stroke (no pun intended) after reading some posts and watching some videos on this wonderful forum it has become clear that restoration (proper honing, stroping, etc;) will need to be done on these razors in order for me to efficiently use and learn to shave with them or it may turn out that it is better to learn by using a different razor and then move to these vintage beauties. In either case, I'm clearly not qualified to do the honing work and will need some one-on-one mentoring to begin my journey. Do any of you folks out there know of some honest, well-informed folks who may be able to help me? I live in Antioch, Ca (neighboring towns would be Concord, Pittsburg, Walnut Creek, Brentwood, Alamo, Danville, Martinez, Benicia, etc;). Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.
Best regards,
Tony Gotelli
