    Default Texas jumping in head first

    I had replied on Docs thread but guess I should have done this first. Like I told him, I'm new to the straight razor but have quickly developed an obsession for them. I now have the three antique razors (all of which I have honed on my new stones) and a TI carbonsong from the art of shaving. Oh and am currently doing my first complete restoration with custom scales, just waiting on the wood to arrive. Well looking foward to learning more from everyone.

    Oh if anyone could tell me how much the clear epoxy should be I'd appreciate it. Went to a local paint store and they told me they could order it but for $75. Just wondering if that's how much it should cost. Thanks

    Welcome to SRP. I don't know the answer to your question but if you post it in the workshop forum someone will undoubtedly be able to tell you. If no one responds shoot gssixgun or Maximilian a PM and ask them. They are top restorers around here.
    Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    Welcome to SRP. While the epoxy isn't cheap anywhere you go to get it $75 sounds a bit high. Try Lowes and Wood Craft. I have seen it in both places for around half that price. Do be aware that all epoxies are not created equal. THe ones I have used sometimes leave a fish eye in the finish, but not all of the time.

    Thanks gentlemen. I found some at lowes called famowood. It was still $24 but beats $75 anyday.

    Lol well if I get the results I'm looking for then I will proudly post some pics. If I don't then I guess I'll be asking plenty of questions to make sure I have the ability to fix my mistakes. Then I'll be more than happy to share.
