Hello from Finland
Hello from Vantaa Finland. Vantaa and Helsinki are neighbouring cities.
Five or six year ago I done my first shave with straight razor. My wife is barber/hairdresser. She have "clinical use" Dovo, which have replaceable blade. So I take it and start practising. In the begin it was very difficult, shaving takes 45 min or more, huh. Nowadays it is routine.
Two and half year ago I was in Dusseldorf and I bought 6/8 Dovo and a strop. After two year using it blade was so dull. I coulnt use strop. Shaving was painful.
Then I brought Naniwa superstone set: a 1000 grit 5000 grit and 8000 grit stone. Now I have been practising honing about six month. I have Lynns DVD and I read this forum with my poor english. It is not easy to make blade very sharp but I am practising. The blade is not yber sharp but shaving is not painful anymore.

Thanks for the answers.
This introductions forum is a very good idea. When I find this forum I deside to write here. This is first time ever when I write on to the english language forum. What a confession I have been reading SRP about one year.
Firstly hope I learn to hone/strop propely and secondly this is a good way to learn language. Luckily there are online dictionary in the web.
Lastly this newbie feels a little safer because here are fellow-countyman too.
