Greetings from Mexico City
Hey people. I'm new around here. I'm from Mexico City.
This all started when I got tired of having razor burn and ingrown hair because of my shaves. My skin is a bit sensitive, and I thought that it was only because of that, as I followed all shaving rituals (hot water, after shave, canned goo...) without any success. But as I kept on reading, I found out that in fact, all those safety razors that I had been using (Gillette Mach3, Mach 3 Power, Fusion Power, etc.) wouldn't help me have a better shave, but actually irritate my skin even more. So I started reading on how a DE or a straight razor would help me.
I've lurked on these forums for some days, and I just decided to order my first straight razor. It may not be that useful, but back in the day, when I started shaving, I would use my father's shavette on the sideburns just to feel cool heheheh. Anyway, knowing that I've used something similar (even if it was some time ago), helped me decide to go for a straight razor.
So here I am, waiting for my first straight, in the hope that my quest for the ultimate shave (or at least one that won't cause burn and ingrowns, for now) will near its end. FYI, I bought the "DOVO Best Quality Black 5/8" wet set available on SRD. I know it's just the (very) basic stuff, but I'm just starting on this. Hopefully, as time goes by and I acquire the necessary skills, I'll get my hands on better equipment.
So well, that sums it up. Cheers people! :beer2:

Hello, Roberto:
Welcome to SRP. The art and craft of straight razor shaving often starts with basic stuff and then soars as one learns his way around. You're already on your way. Congratulations. We're glad to have you here.
