Hey everybody! I finally decided I was going to start straight shaving a couple months ago. I started reading lots of the forum posts and the wiki articles and it has helped immensely!
Then I just kinda popped into the forums and posted a thing or two, but realized I hadn't introduced myself yet. Silly me.
Got a shave ready razor from the classifieds and I have now shaved three times. I love it. I'm one of those all or nothing kind of guys. So I went all in, and other than a tiny nick with the point as I was playing around trimming the edges of a four day beard the evening I got it, I've had three full shaves after with not a nick and just a little irritation. Pretty sure I went with just a little too much pressure the first day. The toughest part is learning the best way to stretch the skin.
Thanks again for all the info, without it, I'm sure my face would have been much more red, as in bloody. And I can't wait to jump in to honing once I've shaved a little longer.
Also, I'm a bartender in New York City, so any questions or discussions on that topic, I'm in.:beer2:
