Beginner with info for other beginners
Some may wonder why I chose the name I did. It is because I use very short, choppy, and careful strokes to shave my chin. I have read the posts of some other "beginners" and must say that I have not had as many problems as I see mentioned here. I do however have what I believe to be useful information or opinions about some products. I ordered a Wapienica from Fendrihan's and when it was lost by Canada Post I bought a TI from Rasage Poulin. The TI was the razor I first started shaving with and it is also my favorite. When Canada Post finally found my Wapienica I tried a shave with it and discovered how easy it is to draw blood. The third razor was an Ebay special that arrived with a hair line fracture in the point of the blade. I ground the fractured end off and set the bevel on the shortened blade. The seller had tried to sharpen it with something that must have resembled a bastard file. Once this razor was honed I shaved with it and drew blood again. The TI has a heavier blade and just feels better to shave with. Fendrihan's did put a nice edge on the Wapienica but the blade just seems too light and I have to be super careful with it. The advice about Ebay razors that I found on this site is totally accurate and very useful. Thanks for all the good information.
