Hello from Ohio
Hello,
After many years of mechanical watches and fountain pens, I figured I'd go a bit further out of step with our modern world and try a true wet shave... Google-fu led me here.
I've been reading for a few hours and have already purchased a vintage Torrey from the exchange and a strop/blade combo from Ruprazor.com.
I get the odd feeling the next few weeks shall be interesting. My thanks to the community as a whole for sharing the knowledge they have and I look forward to adding my own voice to the hive-mind.
Regards,
Matt

Thanks Jimmy,
You mean there is another way to go about things?:gaah:
The way I look at it... less than 100usd invested for two razors of at least "decent" repute and a decently regarded beginners strop. I've already got a good brush, soap, cup etal... now to figure out what type of blade I prefer before I encroach on the watch/pen/ammo/firearms/whisky/beer budget.
Thats about the same price point as a decent "introduction" grade fountain pen, and about half the entry price to the most "modest" of introductory mechanical watches...

Hello from Ohio
Hello, OiRogers:
Welcome to Straight Razor Place, the home of the gentleman shaver. A note of caution: Wet shaving with the straight razor has a way of becoming a sweet obsession.
We are delighted to have you here.

Obie
