Hi. Another newbie from Australia.

Hello all.
I have owned an Edwin Jagger straight razor for about eight months, but unfortunately I managed to make the blade go dull in the process of trying to sharpen it myself only about five shaves after I bought it.
I never got around to getting it repaired for several months, then last week I took it to a professional to sharpen it properly.
I have since used it once, quite successfully, too.
I have also since purchased a few different soaps, aftershaves, and colognes to try out, as well as a nice badger brush(my first one is just a cheap one from Kmart).
I hope I can not only learn from this forum, but also contribute something once I have learned more.

Kmart! Iv only found brushes in Woollies, IGA and Big W. The one from big W is with in acceptable for learning. Those little bore things suck, is that what you had?

Welcome aboard. Honing razors takes a bit a practice. You'll find plenty of info here, and of course we're here to help. I'd recommend picking up a cheap one on Ebay or possibly the classifieds here, and use it to practice honing.

Kmart's great. For $5 you can get a brush ,shave cream & get started but I think you'll prefer the badger brush :)
